Frustrating

Doing this blog is proving more difficult than we thought. Will try to upload some photos of Ze nna after her recent work. New canvas and paint/polish on the outside. Looking very good butnot sure how long this will last. Even got a posing spot in the last marina we were in - along with all the super yachts. Felt a bit cheap doing the laundry and hanging it out to dry...

Here´s hoping this works. I have acatually written a huge piece but can´t copy and paste onthis public computer site.

Nope didn´t work. Will try again somewhere else...

  1. We are in the Algarve at the moment. Slowly making our way along the coast to Gib where we hope to meet some potential crew to go across the Atlantic. Ian, Kirsty and Mhairi are also meeting us there for a couple of days.

We have just left Lisbon after 7 weeks. It was meant to be 2 but everything was closed in August then bythe time we had the work organised it took longer than planned to do it. Still all done now including a new generator shipped out from the UK and fitted at the boatyard, all new canvas - bimini, sprayhood, sail covers, bbq cover, etc, etc. Very smart. We also took the opportunity whilst she was out of the water to grind the rust off the keel and give it an epoxy treatment and antifoul the whole hull. Mark did the ssnding and I did the painting - exhausting. I was wishing we had a smaller boat.

Meet some interesting people in the boatyard. Everyone doing work and exchanging tips. Some fun bbqs aswell put on by the Tagus boatyard guys which were a lot of fun. The guys from the boatyard couldn´t have been nicer and Jesus - yes the name of our super mechanic who sorted everything he touched. Couldn´t work his magic on the generator - it was too far gone. The boatyard fixes everything from ferries, to police boats and said they had never seen a generator in such bad condition - couldn´t actually believe it had even been running.

Now glad to be back on the water and away from the dust, dirt and noise (sirens dogs and machinery) of the boatyard. Took us at least 4 days to clean upthe boat and get over the experience. Coincided with our anniversay so very enjoyable stay ina marina for a while.
